The members of QHOF have been very busy recently reading the village for the festive season.
Last weekend our white Christmas lights were erected around Lambe’s Gardens and this year extend up to the top of the High Street, giving the village a much needed dose of Christmas Cheer.
In keeping with tradition, QHOF members sourced and located a beautiful tree which stands proudly on the village green festooned with hundreds of twinkling lights and topped with a star (or is that a snowflake?)
Special thanks go to Kingswood Christmas Trees for donating such a handsome specimen!
Carols on the Green will be sung on Friday 15th December at 18:30

We recently had the great honour of visiting our good friends down at Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance in Marden.
QHOF members were lucky enough to meet some of the crew, to get up close to their helicopter and to learn all about their crucial life saving work across Kent, Surrey and Sussex. We were very proud to hand over a cheque for £3,000 from the proceeds of our incredibly popular water slide event on the 8th July 2017.
Everyone who came to ride the slide had a fantastic day, the sun shone brightly and we raised some cash for a very deserving cause.
John Starns, Dave Ewen, Captain Gabriel Barton, Ian Betts, Adam Ormrod, Dr. Jonathan Leung, Ray Butler and Jonathan Worsfold.
Thanks to our sponsors and everyone who supported us by riding the slide – we are already planning a longer, steeper and faster ride for next Summer!
And now, the moment you’ve all been waiting for – ticket release date!
Tickets for the water slide are on sale now:
This year we were able to give the Medical Detection Dogs charity £3,500 towards their very deserving and needed work. Generous sponsorship of the pram race along with money donated on the day by members of the public raised the highest amount ever from a pram race.
You will doubtless be aware of the tragic accident that occurred this year resulting in the sad death of Francis ‘Titch’ O’Sullivan. His family and friends have been incredibly supportive of the event in this difficult period and even chose the Pram Race charity as one of their donations along with The Air Ambulance.
Stand by for news of the Summer event that we are planning for July. Here’s a taster of last year’s event – tickets will go on sale very soon!
We recently spent the evening with the members of Hayley’s Heroes to hand over the proceeds from our very successful Summer Ball, held back in August.
We were very happy to present them with a cheque for £10,300.
A spokesperson for Hayley’s Heroes wrote:
“We are all still completely overwhelmed and from the bottom of our hearts we can’t thank QHOF enough”
QHOF have played a fundamental part in the fundraising efforts of Hayley’s Heroes with this years proceeds from the Pram Race also donated towards this most deserving of causes.
QHOF have had the pleasure of working with the Hayley’s Heroes team since their creation and we look forward to continuing this journey in the future.
The last word from Haley’s Heroes:
To every single one of the QHOF… You are simply amazing 💛
