Sutton Valence Water Slide 2019

Funds raised for Kent Air Ambulance 2018

Certificate of Appreciation from Kent Air Ambulance

It is always much appreciated when the hard work of QHOF and associated support staff is officially

recognised, so we were very happy when this certificate landed on our door mat this week.

Thank you to everyone who came along and supported this very important and historic event in our village.

Thanks also to all those who helped us with various tasks such as marshalling, BBQing, money collection

and of course the many local small businesses who donated to our cause.

This year despite the miserable weather you helped us raise £1425 for Kent Air Ambulance

This year we have two Summer events – The Water Slide and the Summer Ball – please check back here soon for ticket details.

It’s going to be a great Summer in SV!

Best wishes,
John on behalf of QHOF

38th Sutton Valence New Years Day Pram Race

The QHOF Sutton Valence Pram Race has been held on New Year’s Day for more than quarter of a century and has raised significant amounts of money for both local and national causes.

Spectators come from throughout the surrounding countryside and the race is regularly featured in the local media.

Two races are run. A Veterans’ Race, for competitors over the age of 45 and a Main Race.

The three-contestant teams dress is a variety of bizarre costumes of their own creation. Two members of the team push the third member (always named thee ‘baby’) around the course in a themed ‘pram’ or go-cart, stopping to drink a beaker of beer at each of the three public houses that line the route.

Revised rules and regulations for participants are shown below.

If you wish to participate, you must fill in the 2018 Pram Race Entry Form

Best wishes,

Christmas Tree and Festive lights in Sutton Valence

The members of QHOF have been very busy recently reading the village for the festive season.

Last weekend our white Christmas lights were erected around Lambe’s Gardens and this year extend up to the top of the High Street, giving the village a much needed dose of Christmas Cheer.

In keeping with tradition, QHOF members sourced and located a beautiful tree which stands proudly on the village green festooned with hundreds of twinkling lights and topped with a star (or is that a snowflake?)

Special thanks go to Kingswood Christmas Trees for donating such a handsome specimen!

Carols on the Green will be sung on Friday 15th December at 18:30

QHOF Water Slide Cheque Presentation to Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance.

We recently had the great honour of visiting our good friends down at Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance in Marden.

QHOF members were lucky enough to meet some of the crew, to get up close to their helicopter and to learn all about their crucial life saving work across Kent, Surrey and Sussex. We were very proud to hand over a cheque for £3,000 from the proceeds of our incredibly popular water slide event on the 8th July 2017.

Everyone who came to ride the slide had a fantastic day, the sun shone brightly and we raised some cash for a very deserving cause.

Thanks to our sponsors and everyone who supported us by riding the slide – we are already planning a longer, steeper and faster ride for next Summer!
